Utah rules to know
- Switching Medigap plans
- Birthday rule. On your birthday and for 60 days after, you can switch to a comparable or lower plan, but only with your same insurer.
- Medigap under 65
- Not required. Utah does not require insurers to sell Medigap to people under 65; the state's 6-month Medigap open enrollment starts only when you are 65 and on Part B, and a 2026 bill to change this did not pass.
- Agent licenses
- Agents must be licensed for health insurance in Utah. Look one up.
