Texas rules to know

Switching Medigap plans
Texas doesn't add a yearly Medigap switching right. Outside your 6-month Medigap Open Enrollment Period (which starts when you're 65 or older and have Part B) and certain federal protections, such as losing other coverage, insurers can usually ask health questions and turn you down. States with switching rights.
Medigap under 65
Required, with limits. If you are under 65 and on Medicare because of a disability, insurers must sell you at least Plan A with no health questions during the 6 months after your Part B starts; since September 1, 2025, people under 65 with kidney failure (ESRD) or ALS must be offered the same plans sold to people 65+, also in a 6-month window after Part B starts.
Agent licenses
Agents must be licensed for health insurance in Texas. Look one up.
