Nebraska rules to know

Switching Medigap plans
Nebraska doesn't add a yearly Medigap switching right. Outside your 6-month Medigap Open Enrollment Period (which starts when you're 65 or older and have Part B) and certain federal protections, such as losing other coverage, insurers can usually ask health questions and turn you down. States with switching rights.
Medigap under 65
Required, with limits. Since January 1, 2025, Nebraska insurers that sell Medigap to people 65 and older must offer at least one plan (currently only Plan A) to people under 65 on Medicare because of a disability, with no health questions during the same 6-month open enrollment people get at 65, but people with only kidney failure (ESRD) cannot buy a Medigap plan until 65.
Agent licenses
Agents must be licensed for health insurance in Nebraska. Look one up.
