North Carolina rules to know

Switching Medigap plans
North Carolina doesn't add a yearly Medigap switching right. Outside your 6-month Medigap Open Enrollment Period (which starts when you're 65 or older and have Part B) and certain federal protections, such as losing other coverage, insurers can usually ask health questions and turn you down. States with switching rights.
Medigap under 65
Required, with limits. North Carolina companies must sell people under 65 on Medicare because of a disability at least Plan A, plus Plan D or G if they sell those to 65-year-olds (Plan C or F for those eligible before 2020), if you apply within 6 months of first enrolling in Part B; the law does not mention ESRD.
Agent licenses
Agents must be licensed for health insurance in North Carolina. Look one up.
