Florida rules to know

Switching Medigap plans
Florida doesn't add a yearly Medigap switching right. Outside your 6-month Medigap Open Enrollment Period (which starts when you're 65 or older and have Part B) and certain federal protections, such as losing other coverage, insurers can usually ask health questions and turn you down. States with switching rights.
Medigap under 65
Required. Florida requires Medigap insurers to let Florida residents under 65 with Medicare due to disability or ESRD enroll in a Medigap policy without health screening during the 6 months starting the first month they are enrolled in Part B (and for 2 months after losing group health coverage); the law does not say which plans must be offered.
Agent licenses
Agents must be licensed for health insurance in Florida. Look one up.
